Tonight: Team Combat League playoffs get underway

Team Combat League’s quarterfinals will kick off tonight (Wednesday) with a doubleheader featuring four of the second season’s eight best teams going toe-to-toe from Royale Boston as they look to move one step closer toward the MegaBrawl Finals on August 1st. In tonight’s first matchup (6 p.m. ET/3 p.m. PT), coach Manny Robles’ L.A. Elite  will face coach Raul Rivas’ Orlando Vipers. The second-place Elite feature a pair of light heavyweight standouts in TCL Most Valuable Fighter nominee Brayan Leon (TCL 10-0, 2 KOs/5-0, 5 KOs) and Most Entertaining Fighter nominee Raul Salomon (TCL 6-0/12-3, 10 KOs), as well as Cuban featherweight Osvel “El Caballero del Ring” Caballero (TCL 8-1, 1 KO/5-0, 4 KOs).

The Vipers will be looking to counter with their own standouts, including 17-time amateur national champion featherweight Jeremy "Magic Hands" Adorno (TCL 7-1, 3 KOs/9-1, 5 KOs); featherweight Miy Sean “Untouchable” Mason (TCL 4-1, 1 KO/11-0, 8 KOs); and long-time contender Willie “El Mongoose” Monroe Jr. (TCL 4-1, 1 KO/24-3, 6 KOs) competing in the light heavyweight division.

In the night’s second matchup, coach Sam Arnold’s Atlanta Attack  will look to take down coach Marc Gargaro’s hometown Boston Butchers. The Attack feature Most Valuable Fighter Award nominee heavyweight Devon Young (TCL 8-0, 3 KOs/4-0, 3 KOs), Most Entertaining Fighter Award nominee lightweight Doctress “Doc The Giant” Robinson (TCL 3-3), Rookie of the Year nominee Ariele Davis (TCL 5-1/10-0, 6 KOs) and hard-punching welterweight Javonn Davis (TCL 7-1/7-0-1, 7 KOs).

The Butchers will answer with their team leaders, including Most Valuable Fighter Award nominee and dangerous lightweight Alejandro Paulino (TCL 11-1, 5 KOs/17-0, 13 KOs), Most Entertaining Fighter Award nominee midleweight “Speedy” Rashidi Ellis (TCL 10-1, 2 KOs/24-1, 15 KOs) and TCL Rookie of the Year Award nominee welterweight Amelia Moore (TCL 8-0, 1 KO). This fan-friendly matchup is a toss-up on paper, as both the Butchers and the Attack have looked unbeatable at times during the season. To continue their Season 2 campaigns, the Butchers will look to be buoyed by the crowd at their home venue, while the Attack hope to use the atmosphere as motivation and flip the script on the home team.
