PRESS RELEASE: In Cancun, Mexico for the World Boxing Council’s annual convention, top-rated heavyweight contender James “Lights Out” Toney scored a knockout victory today not over an opponent inside the ring, but with his longtime partner who has been wearing his ring. Last evening Toney surprised his longtime girlfriend and fiancée, Anjanette Corulli by spontaneously announcing his plans to marry her today in Cancun.  The nuptial, officiated by City Mayor Francisco Alor, took place this morning at 11:00 am Cancun time in a poolside ceremony at the posh Le Meridien Cancun Resort & Spa.  In attendance were Toney’s promoter, Dan Goossen, wife, Debbie, and sons Max and Rex. The happy couple has five children - daughters Morgan Corulli (12), Jasmine Toney (14), twins Brittany and Tiffany Toney (5) and son James Toney, Jr. (2) - and lives in Los Angeles. Toney, the WBC’s mandatory challenger for the heavyweight championship belt held by Hasim Rahman, is awaiting word as to when and where he will have his opportunity to wrest the belt from Rahman.
