Toney does it again

James Toney won a competitive heavyweight bout by unanimous decision in Reno, Nevada on Saturday. It was a competitive bout, although Toney clearly deserved the official decision, which he got by scores of 119-109 (twice) and 117-111. Boxingtalk's Charles Presnell agreed with the closer score. Unlike previous bouts where he didn't throw enough punches, Guinn was active and aggressive. However, Guinn allowed himself to be drawn into an inside battle with Toney, who is perhaps the best close range boxer in the sport. Toney is now 69-4-2 and, moe importantly to his career, he made a successful return from a steroid suspension that saw him win but immediately get stripped of the WBA heavyweigh title earlier this year. Toney who weighed 235, 75 pounds more than when he he stared his career, retained an illegitimate heavyweight title from a sanctioning body that apparently does not mind the use of performance enhancing drugs. Afterwards, Toney called out all of the recognized heavyweight title holders, sayong "y'awl come see me if you want to make some money".
