"Worst damn decision period"
James Toney TKO3 Hasim Rahman... The California commission has some explaining to do. James Toney was awarded a technical knockout over Hasim Rahman even though it was plain to see that an accidental headbutt sustained by Rahman caused the heavyweight contest to be stopped after three rounds. Rahman won the first round, the second round was close and Toney won the third. There was a head clash late in the third that caused a cut over Rahman's left eye. In the corner, Rahman told the doctor he couldn't see out of the eye and the doctor immediately signaled thee fight was over. Since the wound was not caused by a punch and less than four rounds were in the books, the proper ruling was a no contest. However, the California commission decided it should be a technical knockout for Toney, who is based in California. Toney even admitted there was a headbutt in his postfight interview, but he said Rahman should have continued with the fight. Rahman, a Nevada based fighter complained afterwards, "I'm not gona try to fight James Toney with one eye. Everybody knows this [decision] was some home cooking...
