Tomasz Adamek to face Tiwon Taylor

Bobby Gunn misses opportunity

Press Release: Former light heavyweight titlist Tomasz Adamek (32-1, 22 KOs) will take on Tiwon Taylor on the Cunningham-Huck undercard in Bielefeld, Germany on December 29, 2007. The 31-year-old Adamek suffered the first loss of his career back in February when Chad Dawson deprived him of the WBC belt. Adamek then decided to move up in weight, and just four months later, he bounced back with a seventh-round TKO victory over Luis Andres Pineda. "I feel well in the cruiserweight division," Adamek said. "That is my natural weight. I can eat and drink as much as I like. That´s why I feel even stronger." Adamek is well remembered in Germany for knocking out Thomas Ulrich in the sixth round of their meeting back in October 2005. A win over Taylor (26-14, 19 KOs) would put him in the frame for a world title shot in the new limit.  Adamek added: "The win over Pineda proved how well I can fight as a cruiserweight. I haven´t lost any of my speed. The only difference is that my opponents are punching harder. In order to adjust, I've changed my style a little, trying to put a bit more distance between them and me."
