A huge show takes place in Birmingham, England this weekend as Sunny Edwards (pictured) and Galal Yafai meet in a family feud that has been simmering for many years.  Edwards has a victory over Yafai in amateur boxing. The former amateur rivals will square off, live on DAZN, and the winner will be in a great spot to land another huge fight in 2025. Edwards (21-1) has all the experience in the pro game after reigning as the IBF flyweight champion rom 2021 - 2023. Now he is facing a fighter who wants what he once had as he comes up against Yafai, who will be fighting in his hometown. Yafai won gold at the 2021 Olympics, and is 15-3 including the World Series of Boxing. 

 

In Edwards, Yafai is facing a skilful operator who has defeated many quality names. But is thisay be  a case of Yafai, and his team, getting the timing right.  Edwards was stopped by Bam Rodriguez last year and he suffered a nasty cut against Adrien Curiel this past summer. 

 

On the undercard, Kieron Conway and Ryan Kelly will fight it out for the vacant Commonwealth middleweight title while Troy Jones defends his  English light heavyweight title against Michael Stephenson.
