Sheffield undercard report
Carl Thompson W10 Frederic Serrat... On the Hallam FM Arena undercard in Sheffield, England, 41 year old cruiserweight Carl Thompson struggled a great deal with an out-of-shape Frederic Serrat. Both men had the other wobbled a few times and at times, Serrat actually got the better of most of the exchanges. Thompson started the first round pretty good, landing big punches, but nothing seemed to really hurt Serrat, and as the fight went on Thompson seemed to get frustrated that he couldnt score a knockout. The frustration enabled Serrat to be more effective but the final scorecard turned in by the referee read 98-93 in favor of Thompson. With the win, Thompson improves to 34-6 with 25 KOs. He held the WBO cruiserweight title back in 1997-98 but had been inactive for a year, causing him to fall to #21 in the Boxingtalk ratings. Serrat falls to 23-5 9 KOs. source: PPV broadcast
