Duddy, Greene and Quillin get showcase opportunities
Press Release: Middleweight contender “Irish” John Duddy (23-0, 17 KOs), a native of Derry, Ireland who now makes his home in New York, will return to fight in his adopted hometown for the first time in nearly a year when he takes on veteran Michi “The Mexican Sensation” Munoz (20-1, 13 KOs) in a ten-round contest. Also added to the show are unbeaten NYC prospects “Mean” Joe Greene (17-0, 12 KOs) and “Kid Chocolate” Peter Quillin (16-0, 13 KOs) in separate bouts. Klitschko and Ibragimov, a heavyweight title unification bout, headlines the night of boxing presented by K2 Promotions and Seminole Warriors Boxing. Duddy – who is making his sixth Madison Square Garden appearance - stepped closer to world tite contention in late-2006 with a stirring victory over former world champion Yory Boy Campas. In 2007, Duddy went 5-0, and even returned home to Ireland for a three fight tour that ended with his biggest win to date, a December victory over Howard Eastman. Klitschko v. Ibragimov main event will be televised live on HBO World Championship Boxing. Tickets are on sale at 212-307-7171.
