The Retired Boxing Foundation Benefit Dinner

A subject that has been well reported in the past by countless forms of media is the all too common misfortune that plagues many professional prizefighters once their careers inside of the ring are over. Stories that date back to the infancy of pro boxing have documented how legendary figures like the “Brown Bomber” Joe Louis have suffered penniless in the last years of their lives. Numerous others in the modern era of share in this all too similar tale as well. However The Retired Boxers Foundation, Inc is one organization, founded by former USBA Junior Middleweight champion Alex “The Bronx Bomber” Ramos that is fighting to change things.

On Wednesday October 27th, the IL Cortile Ristorante in the heart of “Little Italy”, New York City will be the host site of a special dinner engagement. This buffet dinner is a fundraiser open to both active boxers, retired pugilist and of course fans. The price tag for this event is a donation of $100 a plate in which the bulk of the proceeds will go towards the Retired Boxers Foundation, Inc.

This event is designed to help those fighters who unfortunately do not have the means to help themselves.
