The Pretender: Stallone's Rocky Reality Bites!

Reality bites. Before we begin to expose a few of the many fallacies of NBC's "The Contender", Boxingtalk can only hope that Sugar Ray Leonard forgot to mention that he, Sylvester Stallone, Jeff Wald, Jeffrey Katzenberg, Mark Burnett, Everlast and the rest of the multi-millionaires involved with The PretenderS will AT LEAST be matching whatever sum of money viewers decide to contribute to Najai Turpin's beautiful daughter Anyae and her mother. Am I the only one asking myself, if this is a reality show, why not deal with the reality that Najai Turpin committed suicide months after his loss to Sergio Mora? Better yet, why not deal with the reality that chipping in $1M to make sure the Turpin family is taken care of is something that Leonard, Stallone, Katzenberg and Burnett should have personally seen to upon hearing the news of Najai's suicide? Also, it's painfully obvious that whole premise of the show was, 'you lose you go home', which we now know was a complete and utter sham. But in the grand tradition of the IBF, WBA, WBO and WBC, when reality got Rocky for the contender, they rewrote their own rules as they went along. FULL STORY TO FOLLOW SHORTLY, SO STAY TUNED.
