Hey Greg, cheers for taking the time to read these e-mails. Much appreciated. It gives us ordinary boxing fans a chance to get our views across aswell as getting some knowlogdable insight back. So cheers man. Anyway what I wanted to talk about was Vivian Harris’s fight with Junior ‘the hitter’ Witter. Did you see the fight? Vivian’s excuse stinks. I really don’t know what he is talking about. I am from the UK, and watched the fight live. To say that Witter cheated is just absored. The man got knocked out, simple as that, and he just can’t take it. Didn’t he also make excuses after being knocked out by Carlos Maussa? The punch that Witter landed to finish the fight was a peach, landing smack on Harris’s chin. No way was he getting up in time, so don’t give us that well I just left it to late to get up. He means he couldn’t get up. Also what is Harris talking about saying that Witter isn’t a puncher? Doesn’t the nickname tell him something? After losing to Judah, Witter had 15 straight KO’s, most inside the first few rounds. Granted the opposition wasn’t the best but the kid can still punch. This is the man who recently came to America and floored Lovemore N’dou, one of the most durable fighters out there. Vivian, do your homework next time before you start talking rubbish. And can I also say, what is he talking about when saying bad things happen in the UK? Come on man, surely this isn’t how the UK is viewed in the States, is it? What bad decisions are we talking about here? Worse than Lewis – Holyfield being scored a draw? Come off it Vivian. Grow up. Also, while I’m e-mailing can you tell me if the Haye – Mormeck fight is still happening? I haven’t heard anything recently. And if it is, here’s a little tip for you, Haye to win by 8th round KO before moving to heavyweight and becoming heavyweight champion of the world. Remember where you heard it first. Cheers Greg, all the best. Pete, Wales.

What a sad man Vivian Harris is and what a bad loser. He is just another example of a boxer who comes to Europe and goes home and lies in the belief that fight fans in America are stupid. Let's be clear. He was knocked out. He was hit so hard in the seventh round his feet came off the floor. He needed to be helped from the ring ten minutes later. In six completed rounds, he maybe won the sixth. He was knocked down twice in the fourth round (one was ruled a push but he was caught clean by a left hook). Watch the knockout on You Tube, you judge how unlucky he was. And as for his revolting comments about people getting hurt in England - if only Las Vegas had as safe a record as Britain.

G, What on earth is Vivian Harris ranting on about (todays interview), I cannot believe the cowardess of this guy not to step up and admit he got KO'd in devasting fashion and beaten by the better man on the night, he needs a reality check. Living in the UK myself and having seen this fight live, it's toe curling embarrassing watching this guy talk and make excuses on this. I know you interviewed the guy so you probably won't openly agree with me on this, but it's shambolic!!! I was Harris fan before the fight, and never have been a Witter fan, but that's completely changed my opinions... anyhow bring on Calzaghe - Kessler, what's your thoughts?? Ps I hope this makes the mailbag so that i can see everyone else's repsonse and i'm not alone in thinking this guy is a fool  Liam, UK
I've just read the interview with Vivian Harris, like I read most interviews where Vivian Harris is concerned, and I would have to say I'm actually shocked! Vivian Harris has managed to surpass himself, I mean, I know the man can........shall we say..... bend the truth some what; but what he said in that interview! was plain BS. He got Knocked out!...... simple - let me say it again.....HE GOT KNOCKED OUT like he's never been knocked out before!
Junior Witter blasted him the whole fight, Harris didn't see any of the power punches, therefore he got hurt (most fighters are beginning to see that they don't see Witter punches coming!) ...... that might answer why he is unbeaten in 7 years, and has knocked out 17 of his 21 opponents since the last time you guys in America saw him. I tell you what Greg - I will send you a copy of the fight if you want? Watch it for yourself - then you can tell me Harris is talking rubbish. I'm gonna say it - Vivian Harris is the worst kind of loser, what happened between him and Ricky Hatton was no fault but Harris' and even then he told everyone and anyone that would listen to him, that it was Hatton that didn't wanna fight, again bs. Now he takes on Witter, and gets well knocked out, he starts all over again. I think Harris' time is up - I think the validity of some of his remarks are more than questionable. Does this effect the validity of Boxingtalk when you have fighters that come out and lie? I mean i don't know....I guess I'm still here reading it. To finish off Greg, Yes the corner men for Witter did jump in the ring, once the count had hit 8 seconds! But if you watch the fight, it wouldn't have mattered if they had jumped in after 2, 4 or 15 seconds, Harris was out! and there wasn't a 'chickens chance in Taiwan' that he could have carried on fighting from the canvas! As far as the gloves situation goes.....I couldn't comment, maybe he needs better people around him to make sure things get done....then again maybe it all a load of BS. This should of detracted from what was a brilliant performance from Junior Witter! watch the fight and make your own mind up!

yo G, Its 11am over in london and just read the interview with vivian. I am so disappointed with it the amount of excuses he made was ridiculous saying witter has tampered with his blood that is a serious allegation. Harris has always been known for running his mouth i remember he tried to do the same to Mayweather when he should of been concentrating on maussa and look what happened the same thing with witter. He really under estimated witter and left his chin in the air far too many times. Its obvious Harris did not do his homework and i think every 1 is fed up with his excuses after his fights.
Hey Greg, Why is it that every time Harris loses he says it wasn`t fair and says the other guy should have been DQed? When he lost to Maussa, his excuse was that he was hit when he was down. Now he loses to Witter and the corner came into the ring too quick.  I saw the fight and I admit the corner came in a little premature (as soon as I saw that I knew Harris would say there should have been a DQ) but realistically, everyone knew Harris wasn`t getting up. He had his head draped over the bottom rope and didn`t even start to move until the ref hit the 8 count. He was still on his ass when the ref hit 10.  As for the rest of the fight, Harris lost all but 1 round. He was swinging wildly and missing. Witter was potshotting him at will. Harris should just admit that when the pressure is on, he chokes. Witter frustrated him the first few rounds cuz Harris couldn`t touch him and Witter was hitting at will. You can see after the first knockdown that Harris didn`t want to be there anymore. He was a beaten man and it was just a matter of time.  While I am not a fan of either man, before the fight I was actually hoping Harris would win. But after about 4 or 5 rounds I could see that that wasn`t going to happen. And now that he is complaining and making excuses about technicalities, I couldn`t care less if he ever fights again. Tell Harris to put that in his pipe and smoke it!  Wil
Vivian Harris gave the most bullshit interview i think ive ever
heard....fact was he was beaten by a better man! To accuse Wiitter of taking drugs etc is pathetic. I suppose Carlos Maussa was hiding bricks in his gloves when he fought him too?! Junior was just too fast and punched too hard for his glass chin! Harris wasnt close to gettin up after that left hook, for him to say he was on his feet at the count of 10 is fuckin rubbish....5 mins after the fight he was still on his stool! England is a very fair place to fight....everyone knows this. Harris is a dickhead and its gonna be no loss to boxing when he retires....which he should do because he has nothing to offer....unless he can actually start finishing fights! Up an coming boxers (who actually have a chance of doing something with their life) could use a journeyman punk like you to get some rounds under their belts!

hi before i start i wanna say i am from england but am not biased in the slightest so what im gonna say is the truth. firstly i cant stand witter he has got a big mouth and i just hope anyone whether american english or from anywhere can shut his mouth. in england he has made a career out of calling ricky hatton out after fights whilst knowing that after running from judah for 12 rounds the fight can never happen. now while i dont really rate harris i was looking for him to beat the hell out of witter but i can honestly say that from the first bell he was totally destroyed and outclassed confirming to me that harris days as a top player are over. harris interview with you shows no dignity or class whatsoever he knows he was beat by the much better man and looked way out of his depth by fairplay and boxing skills. i didnt see him complain when he was put on his ass in the fourth but was given as a no knockdown. he should take a leaf out of jeff lacys book and take defeat whilst fighting in england with grace and dignity like im sure kessler will.lastly im a big hatton fan and whilst i think mayweather is just to good for him or anybody i hope he can put on a good show and hey if he loses on the flipside he could take witters belt of him and shut his big mouth. cheers. mark. manchester.england

Hi Greg, I read BT at least once or twice a day and I really think it's a great site but after reading your interview with Vivian Harris I have to say few things. It's a shame that Harris is saying those kind of things. He LOST the fight. Period. There's absolutely no excuses. He obviously doesn't know Witter too well as he says that "Witter is not a big puncher". Witter the hitter IS a big puncher. Harris won 1 or 2 rounds in the fight. I hope that
some network would show the fight in the States so there would be no room for excuses. Harris knows that no-one has seen the fight in the States so he can say whatever he wants and make up all these stories. And by the way, British Boxing Board of Control probably takes health issues in boxing more seriously than any other comission in the world. So there's no reason to blame that he was in more danger than in his other fights. Please tell Viv
to give you a copy of the fight. I doubt he would do that. Anyway, keep up the great work. Cheers Will
Hey G. Living in England I watched the Witter v Harris fight live on tv. Witter did well, fair play to him. No chance against Hatton though. However that discussion is for another day. I would however like to comment on Harris' comments posted on this website. Is the guy loopy or something. The comments were not just bad, they were downright disgusting!!! Watching the fight again, he does have a point about the corner entering the ring early. What I cannot get my head round is him saying quote "this is what happens when you go to England". and "Engalnd is not a fair place to fight" I'm sorry Viv but if you get popped on the chin with a good shot and go down.....thats boxing!! I was reading his interview in utter disbelief! Also him stating that this thing happens all the time in England - How would he know...Americans don't fight in England unless their careers are on the way
down!!! Harris being a perfect case in point!! Not a huge Witter fan myself, but now have utter contempt for Harris. Your thoughts? Great site by the way. Jason W
I've just read what Vivian Harris had to say about his loss against Junior Witter. I saw the fight and to be fair, he was just beaten to the punch every time. I aint no fan of Witter and I dont care what he says, he and Hatton dont even belong in the same sentence but Harris has a case of bad loser who cant take an ass whooping fairly. He got killed that night and to start making excuses now about how he was treated and Witters corner geeting in the ring early doesn't wash with me. If something shady happened, then it will get found out, but Harris summed up what I have been saying since he got beat by the Colombian Mouse, he aint got no chin and as soon as someone with a bit of power hits him, he goes into his shell like a kid hides under his momma's skirt. Marcus Johnson
whats up Greg, Gman im just getting sick and tired of hearing Vivian Harris spit excuse after excuse. first he bitched and moaned about Mayweather. next Vivian Harris had excuse for Carlos Maussa. now Vivian Harris is acting like all of England plotted against him in his recent knockout loss. i,ll put Vivian Harris's excuse right up there with the U.F.O conspiracy coverup b.s. enough of Vivian the whiner Harris.
Greg, I have to say that I am absolutely appalled once again at Vivian Harris' behaviour. This is the man who got whupped by a bum like Carlos Maussa - he put that one down to experience but said that we would now see the best of him. He then comes to England and gets his backside kicked good and proper. Does he accept his defeat like a man? Does he give his opponent credit? Not a bit of it - he makes ludicrous claims about foul play and doping! It is this kind of poor sportsmanship and mud slinging that is damaging boxing. I know the fight has not been televised in the US yet but I have seen the fight on television and once you get sight of it you will agree with me that it was a fair fight. I am by no means a Witter fan, but he won the fight fair and square - and finished it with a devastating knock out punch. As for Harris' claim that Witter should have been disqualified for his team entering the ring before the ten count was over, the claim, like, Harris, is below contempt. Harris neglects to mention that he wouldn't have been capable of fighting 10 hours after the punch he took, never mind less than ten seconds! At the end of the day, I hope the fight is televised in the US so you can all make your own minds up. Can we then all agree to not take any notice of Vivian Harris in the future? Peace, Adrian (Leeds, UK)
