The Legendary Blue Horizon has been put up for sale and the asking price is $6.5 million.  Although the boxing shows at the Blue have been successful as of late, renting the facility out for banquets and meetings has been difficult and created a deficit.  Vernoca L. Michael, the first black female boxing promoter bought the landmark in 1994 with two partners.  The 1500 seat arena saw more than 50 different champions fight there and is now partially transformed into a cultural community center.  The property has been on the market for three months and includes 41,440 square feet of space including the arena, an auditorium and a ballroom.  The actual boxing promotional business is not for sale although the new owners would be free to promote fights in the building.  Source: AP and the Philadelphia Inquirer
