This morning, the Las Vegas odds for the Floyd Mayweather-Oscar De La Hoya fight opened at: Floyd Mayweather - 220, Oscar De La Hoya + 180. According to the director of HBO PPV, Mark Taffet, since 1996 Oscar De La Hoya HBO PPV fights have totalled over 11 million in PPV buys and created $490 million dollars in revenue.  That is just in PPV sales alone.  The De La Hoya-Mayweather fight will be shown in a record 176 countries and is currently on track to sell $3 million dollars in merchandise, which is also a record.  With a record $19 million gate wich sold out in 3 hours, will the De La Hoya-Mayweather fight break the all time record for PPV buys?  The previous record was set at 2 million PPV buys by Lewis-Tyson.
