Tennyson, from Northern Ireland, exchanged heavy punches with Gwynne, and even though Tennyson was the man who has come up from lighter weight classes, his punching power was the difference. Tennyson bloodied the face of Gwynne en route to a sixth-round technical knockout. A hard right from Tennyson caused Gwynne to take a knee, and although Gywnne was incredibly game, the referee was wise to stop the contest a few seconds later with Gwynne absorbing punch after punch.
