Team Palle wants Calzaghe-Kessler

Team Palle, the promoter of WBA/WBC supermiddleweight champion Mikkel Kessler has begun beating the drums for a match between Kessler and Joe Calzaghe. Both men won their fights earlier this month, but the way Team Palle saw it, "Calzaghe struggled against hard as nails but largely unknown challenger Sakio Bika while Kessler utterly destroyed one of the top men in the division, reigning WBC Champion Markus Beyer, in three devastatingly one sided rounds."  While Calzaghe is coming to New York next week to discuss his future plans, Kessler has earned the right to fight him next.  Calzaghe holds the WBO and IBF versions of the 168-pound titles, and while he is generally recognized as the world champion, a fight between him and Kessler would produce just the third boxer to hold the four major titles since the WBO came into existence in the late 1980s. Bernard Hopkins and Jermain Taylor were the first two to accomplish boxing's quadruple crown.
