Katie Taylor W10 Amanda Serrano... Katie Taylor defeated Amanda Serrano in the most significant women's fight of all time. Taylor retained her world lightweght championship via split decision, with most observers believing the judges got it wrong. After ten hard-fought rounds that saw both women bloodied and offered thrills from start to finish, Ireland’s Taylor prevailed as the winner by scores of 97-93 and 96-93, which overruled a 95-94 scorecard for Serrano. [Boxingtalk disagreed, crediting Serrano with winning six of the ten rounds.] Nonetheless, Taylor retained her WBC, WBA, WBO and IBF lightweight titles. With this victory, Taylor improved her record to 21-0, with 6 knockouts. Serrano fell 42-2-1, with 30 knockouts. A rematch is in order, as the bout was very exciting and had the Madison Square Garden road roaring.
