With Winky Wright's situation changing day by day, the WBC announced today it intends to go through with a purse offer for the middleweight world title fight between Wright, the WBC mandatory, and world champion Jermain Taylor. The purse bid will be held tomorrow, February 10, 2006, at 12:00 noon, in Mexico City. Under a recent WBC ruling, the split will be 60/40 in favor of the champion. The split is usually 75/25 for the champion, but 60/40 is something Wright has indicated in the past he won't agree to.
