IBO Light Heavyweight Champion Antonio Tarver and Glencoffe Johnson are making their final preparations in south Florida training camps for this much anticipated Light Heavyweight showdown which will take place at the Staples Center in L.A. on Saturday December 18 with HBO televising the bout live.
Both Tarver and Johnson are responsible for the demolition of Roy Jones Jr. Tarver first ko'd Jones in shocking fashion May 15, 2004 in the second round with a single punch. Then in September of 2004, Johnson stunned the boxing world with his impressive stoppage of Jones.
"This fight will let the world know who the best Light Heavyweight is. And yes my IBO belt is on the line. The winner will walk out of the ring wearing the IBO belt and the title Best Light Heavyweight in the World" Tarver said at the end of his last training session.
Both fighters will leave their south Florida training camps at the end of this week, fly across the country and finally meet face to face in the center of the ring on Saturday night.
