PRESS RELEASE: Tickets in all price ranges go on sale today, Wednesday, May 16, for the Saturday, June 9, World Championship Doubleheader at The Connecticut Convention Center at Hartford, Conn. The main event features the highly anticipated return of one of boxing’s most recognizable and talented pound-for-pound fighters, the former undisputed light heavyweight champion Antonio “Magic Man” Tarver of Tampa, Fla.

Tarver will face the “Kosovo Kid” Elvir Muriqi (34-3, 21 KOs) for the vacant International Boxing Organization (IBO) 175-pound crown. The New York-based Muriqi has won three in a row and 21 of his last 23.

 In the co-main event, “Awesome” Chad Dawson (23-0, 15 KOs) of New Haven, Conn., will make the first defense of his Light Heavyweight Championship against Mexico’s hard-hitting Jesus “Chuy’’ Ruiz (19-4, 17 KOs).

A stacked undercard will feature three Connecticut crowd-pleasing boxers: Danbury’s hot welterweight prospect Delvin Rodriguez returns to the ring after his hard-fought war against Jesse Feliciano. The popular women’s prospect Adelita Irizarry of Hartford, and New Haven super middleweight Elvin Ayala are also on the bill. The full undercard will be announced shortly.

 This fantastic evening of boxing is presented by Joe DeGuardia’s Star Boxing in association with AT Entertainment. Tickets are expected to sell quickly so be sure to get the choice seats early!

The doors open at 6 p.m. With the first fight scheduled to kick-off at 7 p.m.
