While Lou DiBella and Bernard Hopkins were preparing for today's press conference in New York City, the Supreme Court of the United States declined to hear Hopkins' appeal of a defamation lawsuit that awarded DiBella $625,000 in damages from the ex-middleweight world champion. The decision means that Hopkins has exhausted his legal options and DiBella can finally collect the money he won after Hopkins made ugly allegations, later determined to be false, that DiBella demanded a bribe from him.  Although Hopkins didn't comment directly on the news at the press conference, he did say that as far as he was concerned, the hatchet had finally been buried between the two allies-turned-enemies.
