WBA super flyweight champion Alexander Muñoz (25-0, 24KOs) will defend his title against Martin Castillo (26-1, 13KOs) on December 3rd from New Mexico. The bout will be televised on Telefutura's excellent Solo Boxeo series. With Muñoz recuperating from an injury and inactive since January, Castillo captured the WBA's interm title in Japan on May 16, 2004 by defeating Japan's Hideyasu Ishihara via knockout. The match between the explosive Muñoz (rated #2 by Boxingtalk) and the technically gifted Castillo (Boxingtalk #7) could provide boxing fans with a fight of the year candidate.
