Stevens, McGirt and Stark win in NYC

Curtis Stevens TKO2 Jonathan Corn... Like his fellow Brooklynite Mike Tyson did a generation ago, Curtis Stevens has been on a fight every two weeks pace, at least for the last month. Stevens got his third win in 30 days by making quick work of Jonathan Corn in the second round on DiBella Entertainment's Broadway Boxing show in New York City. Corn was down once and absorbed an extended flurry of hard, unanswered punches leading to the stoppage. Stevens improved to 16-1 while Corn fell to 46-16-2.

Buddy McGirt, Jr. W8 Dennis Sharpe... On the same card,  Buddy McGirt Jr. improved to 13-0 with a unanimous eight-round decision over Dennis Sharpe, now 17-4-3, with four straight losses. Sharpe fought well, but McGirt dominated the middleweight action, winning by scores of 80-72 (twice) and 79-73.

Gary Stark, Jr. W10 Vernie Torres... Gary Stark, Jr. of Staten Island, New York outpointed Vernie Torres in a ten-round bout for the vacant New York State junior featherweight title. Now 18-0, Stark fought at a fast pace and won every round against Torres, 27-8, who has far more experience than Stark and came to win, even though most of Torres' fights were in a slightly lower weight class.
