Star Boxing lends a helping hand

PRESS RELEASE: Star Boxing will be helping make the holidays brighter for kids this year, and you can help. On Friday, December 8, at the Paradise Theater in the Bronx, New York, representatives of the United States Marine Corp will be collecting new, unwrapped toys for the Toys for Tots organization.

The collection will be part of a night of fights by Joe DeGuardia’s Star Boxing, featuring up-and-coming Kevin “Kingpin” Johnson (12-0-1, 5 KOs), as he takes on former WBC Continental Americas, WBE Heavyweight, WBC Latino and WBE International Super Heavyweight Champion Charles Davis (17-10-1, 4 KOs) in a 10-round heavyweight battle..

Also that night, "The Fighting Marine" Jon Schneider (2-0, 2 KOs), will appear on the all-star undercard. Schneider was honorably discharged from the marines as a Corporal in the 2nd Battalion 4th Marine Division and participated in Operation Desert Fox. He will be accompanied to the ring by Active Sgt. Seth Bie of the same battalion/division.

“We are proud to be working in conjunction with the United States Marines and Toys for Tots and hope that, together, we can help brighten the holidays for some under-privileged youths in the area,” said promoter DeGuardia. “We encourage everyone in attendance that night to share in the joy of the holiday season by donating a new, unwrapped toy to this worthy cause.”

About the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation: The mission of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the campaign is conducted. The primary goal of Toys for Tots is to deliver, through a shiny new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to needy youngsters that will motivate them to grow into responsible, productive, patriotic citizens and community leaders.
