Press release: The UK’s first broadband sports TV channel has beaten its rivals to the punch after securing exclusive live UK rights to screen World Championship Boxing from Germany later this month.

The clashes will be live and exclusive from Stadhalle in Zwickau on Saturday 13 May and UK fight fans will only be able to watch the bouts exclusively on www.sportal.com. The bouts are as follows:

  • WBC Super Middleweight World Championship
Markus Beyer v Sakio Bika (12 Rounds)
  • IBF Middleweight World Championship
    Arthur Abraham v Kofi Jantuah
  • IBF Eliminator World Super Middleweight Championship
    Danielo Häussler v Yusaf Mack
  • Plus 3 other bouts featuring:
Manuel Charr, Yoan Pablo Hernandez & Vitaly Tsypko
The evening, commissioned by the Austrian Boxing Federation, will be shown only on sportal.com for just £9.99 and fans are able to buy the Saturday Fight Night now by logging on to: www.sportal.com

“This is another major coup that clearly demonstrates the growing success of the site,” says Peter Lewinton, Director of Rights and Video Production at TEAMtalk Media Group, owner of sportal.com. “With a world title fight plus five other matches we believe this offers diehard boxing fans a real value for money opportunity.”

The night will be hosted by Sportal’s very own Adriano Russo with pre-bout build-up and post-match analysis, and features live ringside commentary by Sportal’s boxing expert, Derek Bilton.

The unveiling follows a highly successful web exclusive broadcast from the Cheltenham Festival 2006 where sportal.com beamed coverage direct from the paddock.

sportal.com is the UK’s first online broadband sports news and content TV channel, dedicated to delivering high quality,  live sporting action from across the globe.
