Spinks ready to Jinx Jones!

GL: What's the latest and greatest Cory? "Man I've just been working like crazy over here with Kevin (Cunningham) to get this mandatory fight with Rodney Jones out of the way. None of the so called top guys out there wanted anything to do with me so now I have to deal with this here business before I move on to bigger and better things."

GL: Does it frustrate you that you can't follow up your title winning effort over Roman Karmazin agaisnt a more marquee name?

Cory Spinks: "Yeah man it does, because it's like I always say I just sign contracts to make fights. I don't duck or dodge nobody and I'm always looking for whoever is supposed to be the toughest challenge out there. After coming back from such a long layoff to become the man at 154 it's a little disappointing that none of the so called pound for pound fighters wanted to fight me, but this mandatory fights is real important for me because if I don't get this out of the way I'm not going to be able to do what I want to do in 2007.

GL: I'm all ears Cory, tell us what you want to do in 2007?

cs: "First we're going to get this here mandatory with Rodney Jones out of the way and then we're going to work our way down the list of guys we want to fight. But I don't know if these guys is scared of getting their socks boxed off or what it is, but we already know Floyd don't want nothing to do with me and now he's talking retirement because he can't shadowbox without hurting his hands. Oscar ain't going to fight me. Shane Mosley needs to grow some nuts and have the guts to face me. Spinks-Mosley is the biggest fight out there for him. I'm willing to put my title on the line against Mosley and if he's willing to fight for the IBF welterweight title, why wouldn't he want to fight for the same belt at 154? Vernon Forrest, Ike Quartey, all them boys could get it, all they need to do is step up to the plate and try to take my belt."

GL: What do you think about Rodney Jones as a fighter?

CS: "I respect all fighters and I ain't going to take him lightly, but this is the kind of fight that I need to win impressively to keep my title and keep the pressure on these chumps who keep on running from me. Boxing fans want to see the best fight the best, but with me it seems like the guys who people think are supposed to be the best don't have the nuts or guts to dance with me."

GL: Kassim Ouma recently told me he wants his title back. Is OUma someone you would fight?

CS: "I'll fight anybody man. I sign contracts. Kassim is one of the few real fighters like me who isn't afraid to step up to fight anybody, so if nobody else with a bigger name is out there for me to fight and Kassim is the best Option out there it's like Kev said, he could get taken to school too."

GL: Is there anything you'd like to say in closing?

CS: "I want to thank all my fans for the love they give me everywhere I go and I want to let them know that 2007 could be a really big year for me if the networks out there finally force these guys to face real challenges.
