Michael Acri, promoter for former IBF lightweight champion and current undefeated jr. welterweight contender PAUL "The Pittsburgh Kid" SPADAFORA, announced today that Spadafora is scheduled to undergo surgery, December 1, to remove two bone spurs from his left elbow. Spadafora, 38-0-1 (15 KOs), from Pittsburgh, PA, is currently world-rated No. 5 by the WBC and No. 6 by the IBF.
Acri also announced the postponement of his 20th annual Erie Boxing Classic. The new date is Friday, December 17 at the Avalon Hotel. The postponement was due to needing more time to find a suitable opponent for undefeated heavyweight Brian Minto, 18-0 (11 KOs), who will be fighting in the main event.
