Spadafora's attempted homicide trial set for Dec. 20

The Associated Press reports that a short delay was granted to boxer Paul Spadafora, but the former lightweight titlist will have to stand trial on December 20, 2004 for allegedly shooting the woman who is now his fiancee.  Nadine Russo was shot in the abdomen, and Pittsburgh prosecutors allege the crime was committed by Spadafora, who is charged with attempted homicide and aggravtaed assault.  Spadafora vacated his IBF lightweight title without losing a bout and is now rated #11 at junior welterweight by Boxingtalk.
