Gcina Makhoba TKO3 Thulani Gumede ... In Durban, South Africa, super flyweight Gcina Makhoba put on a destructive performance when he stopped fellow KwaZulu-Natal resident Thulani Gumede in the third round on Saturday. Makhoba improved his professional record to 6-1-1, while the challenger falls to 7-2-1. Showing class, maturity and power, Makhoba went straight to work from the first bell and clearly won the first two rounds. Gumede tried his best to turn the tide, but always seemed a step behind. In round three, Makhoba landed a body shot which made Gumede turn his back, grimacing in pain, forcing referee Elroy Marshall to jump in and wave the fight off at 0:48. It was later revealed that Gumede had broken a rib. The fight headlined a card promoted by Starline Boxing Promotions. source: wbf
