Mabuza scores big win in Vegas

Silence Mabuza W12 Cruz Carbajal... South Africa's Silence Mabuza, already Boxingtalk's #8 bantamweight and reigning IBO titlist, scored a significant win in Las Vegas on Friday. Mabuza outpointed Boxingtalk #6 Cruz Carbajal by scores of 118-110 (twice) and 116-112. Mabuza is now 18-0, while Carbajal, a former world titlist is 25-13-1. 

Isaac Hlatshwayo W10 William Morelos... On the same card, Isaac Hlatshwayo made his second trip to America better than his first, defeating William Morelos by poins over ten rounds. Official scores were 99-91 (twice) and 98-92. Hlatshwayo, now 21-0, is considered one of his country's best prospects, but suffered a no-contest due to an accidental cut in his first international fight thre emonths ago. William Gare W6 Johannes Pietersen... Meanwhile, in Rustenburg, South Africa, William Gare retained his domestic 154-pound championship with a technical decision win over Johannes Pietersen.  Gare was easily winning and had Pitersen down once, but Gare was cut during a sixth-round clash of heads. The scorecards were consulted and Gare, 20-10, retained his title by scores of 58-55, 59-55 asnd 59-54. source: SuperSport Zone
