Sophiane Khati TKO7 Nathan Heaney... France's Sophiane Khati got a huge road win, upsetting fan favorite Nathan Heaney in Manchester, England on Saturday. Khati had Heaney bleeding badly and scored a knockdown in round seven. Heaney beat the count and then got an extra long rest as his corner took its sweet time washing off his mouthpiece, which fell out during the trip to the canvas. Despite that Khati jumped on Heaney when the action resumed, and a few solid punches later, he was the winner by technical knockout. Khati is now 18-5 and joins Bruno Surace as the second French middleweight to defeat a hometown favorite in the last few months. (Surace moved up to super middleweight and shocked ex-champ Jaime Munguia for Munguia's first pro loss). Heaney is now 18-2-1 after winning his first eighteen pro fights. He will need some time off.
