Press Release: Super bantamweight prospect Antonio Escalante will battle Leivi Brea in the twelve round main event on Friday, January 26, 2007 at Cicero Stadium near Chicago. The bout will headline an evening of professional boxing broadcast on Solo Boxeo and promoted by 8 Count Productions along with  Golden Boy Promotions. Escalante, 14-1 with 9 KOs and a native of Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, returns to Cicero Stadium one year after his decision win over Jose Hernandez on January 27, 2006. Since then, he has won three bouts including a twelve-round decision over Juan Ruiz on May 12, 2006. His most recent win was a second round knockout of Omar Adorno on October 21, 2006 . Brea, 16-3-3 with 8KOs and from the Dominican Republic, had won fourteen bouts in a row before losing to world ranked Jorge Lacierva on October 7, 2006. Also featured on the shpw in separate bouts are undefeated lightweight Mike Gonzales and super bantamweight crowd favorite Ivan Hernandez. Additionally, on the card is undefeated Chicago welterweight prospect Achour Esho and Puerto Rican bantamweight prospect Jonas Hernandez. Super bantamweight Brooke Dierdorff will appear in a scheduled four round women’s bout.
