Solo Boxeo report: Luevano now 31-1

Steve Luevano W12 Crisotbal Cruz... In the Solo Boxeo main event from Connecticut on Friday, Steve Luevano got a quality win over tough Cristobal Cruz, although the local newspaper reported that the unanimous decision in Luevano's favor was booed by the crowd. Whether they were unhappy with the scoring, or Luevano's style of boxing, the regional featherweight title holder upped his career mark to 31-1 and appears to be ready for a world title shot in the talent-thin 126-pound division. First, Luevano will have to recover from a headbutt that left hjim with a cut and possibly a broken nose. Cruzis now 32-8-1 but hadn't lost in seven previous bouts.  source: Norwich Bulletin

Elvin Ayala TKO1 John Gottschling... Elvin Ayala took out John Gottschling only 19 seconds into their super middleweight bout. The Connecticut prospect cut Gottschling over one of his eyes and then drove him into the ropes. The referee quickly stepped in to stop the bout. With the win, the 25-year-old Ayala raised his record to 16-0 with 7 KOs.  Gottschling, 10-12-1, went to a local hospital afterwards. Gottschling was 2-7 in his last nine bouts coming in, so the question should be asked if he should have been approved as an opponent.  source: Norwich Bulletin
