With ESPN done for the year, Telefutura dominates Friday night landscape
Press Release: In the main event of Friday's Solo Boxeo show, Fernando Trejo, 29-12 with 18 KOs, of Mexico City faces off against Juan Ramon Cruz, 15-3-1 with 11 KOs, of San Juan, Puerto Rico in a ten-round lightweight battle. The co-main feature pits Francisco Rodriguez, 9-1 with 6 KOs against Puerto Rican Ivan Rodriguez, 8-3-1 with 3 KOs, in an eight-round super bantamweight bout for the Illinois State title. Said promoter Dominic Pesoli of 8 Count Productions, “All four of these fighters have always been in terrific action packed fights. We expect both of these bouts to have non-stop action which Chicago fight fans have come to expect at our shows. Throw in the ethnic pride on this special weekend and it’s really a can’t miss card for Chicago.” Also on the card is a six round junior middleweight bout between Polish prospect Andrzej Fonfara, 6-1, and Luis Hodge, 5-4 of the Dominican Republic, now fighting out of Sarasota, Florida.
