Solis to defend Mexican title in Texas!

PRESS RELEASE: Hard-hitting, undefeated Jorge "Coloradito" Solis of Guadalajara, Mexico will defend his Mexican Featherweight National Title against Nicky Bentz of Reynosa, Mexico in Top Rank's main event of Telefutura's "Solo Boxeo de Miller" at the American Bank Center on Friday, July 1.

"I really looking forward to putting on a good show for the Corpus Christi fans", said Solis during a media workout today at the PAL Gym.

Solis (26-0-2, 19 KO's) who is trained by the professor Jesus "Cholain" Rivero is ranked number 13 by the WBC at 126 pounds.

"This is a big opportunity for me. It will be a chance to climb the ratings and show my talents to a large television audience", said Solis.

The Solis-Bentz (36-4-2, 29 KO's) showdown will be a 12 round affair.

"I know Bentz is a very experience fighter and that's why a prepare well for this fight. I believe that it will be a very explosive fight between to tough Mexicans", added Solis.

Bentz, a former two-time world title challenger, is coming off a controversial split decision loss to four-time world champion, Johnny Tapia.  Bentz lost to Tapia on January 22,2005 at the new Dodge Arena in the Rio Grande Valley.
