So What's Next For Manny Pacquiao?

Muhammad: "None of the top Mexican's are in a rush to fight Manny Pacquiao!"

After learning of the Morales-Barrera rubber match, Boxingtalk.com reached out to featherweight king Manny Pacquiao's promoter Murad Muhammad, who said, "(Pacquiao's) manager and I will have to go back to the drawing board and get the next best thing." Muhammad recently told Boxingtalk that a deal for Morales-Pacquiao was "done" in principle. Murad also said Bob Arum told him he had a deal, "and I'm not the type of person who gives my word on something and pulls out because there's a little more money somewhere else." It seems as if Top Rank/Team Erik Morales used the whole Manny Pacquiao bout, as leverage to put pressure on Golden Boy Promotions/Team Barrera to finalize the rubber-match. "That could be the case here, Barrera may have had nowhere else to go and been forced back to the table. But it's evident that none of the top Mexican fighters are in a rush to fight Manny Pacquiao. Since his last fight we've reached out to Juan Manuel Marquez, Marco Antonio Barrera for rematches and Erik Morales. None of them want to fight him. At least I got a courtesy call from Richard Schaefer to tell me Barrera didn't want the fight," said Muhammad referring to the fact that he's yet to receive word from Top Rank since he and Arum made their verbal agreement. Boxingtalk.com will continue to keep you updated on Manny Pacquiao's next move, so stay tuned.
