Smoke Gainer wins split decision

Derrick Smoke Gainer W12 Phillip Payne... Ex-world title holder Derrick "Smoke" Gainer won a highly contested decision over late sub Phillip Payne. Ring rust was evident on the slick boxer, who hadn't fought since losing to world featherweight champion Chris John 16 months ago. Gainer, from Pensacola, Florida, didn't really start letting his hands go until about the fifth round. Payne was the aggressor throughout the fight and many in the crowd believed he had done enough to get the decision. Scores read 116-112, 115-113 for Gainer and 116-114 for Payne.

Bobby Aucoin TKO3 Tyrone Wiggins... It took just three rounds for Bobby Aucoin, "The Bayou Bomber", to bomb Tyrone Wiggins out. Wiggins, 7-18, fought bravely, but was overwhelmed by Aucoin, who now moves to 18-0-1 with 10 KOs.

Kasha Chamblain UD4 Christi Sepulvado... Kasha Chamblain won a hard fought decision over the very durable Christi Sepulvado. This bout was a slugfest from beginning to end. There were several heated exchanges with Chamblain getting the better of most of them. Sepulvado didn't give an inch, but was clearly overmatched in the skill department. Chamblain goes to 7-0 with 4 KOs, but that figure includes three wins against Sepulvado. Scores read 40-36 twice and 39-37.
