Smoke Gainer plans on stopping Navarro, targeting Casamayor!

GL: What's the latest and greatest Smoke? What can we expect to see from you on Saturday night against Carlos Navarro? "First of all I had a great camp. I'm happy and pleased to be fighting on the same card with my man Roy Jones Jr. I'm looking forward to the fight, I had great sparring and I know Navarro is a game guy and he's going to come to fight. He beat Floyd Mayweather in the amatuers and he beat a lot of guys as a pro, so this is a great opportunity for me to show that I'm still here and I still deal with the best guys out there."

GL: What do you think of Navarro as a fighter?

Smoke Gainer: "I think he's a good fighter and I'm sure he was going through some things during his losses. He's a good fighter and I know he's going to come. Beating me, a former world champion would be good for him and beating him would be good for me. He's getting some good work in Vegas and I have a lot of respect for him because I know he's going to win, but that's what I'm coming to do and going to do."

"I plan on doing my thing. I'm going to outsmart him, box him and just pick him apart. My goal is to box this guy without standing too far away so I can get off some good combinations. I'm coming to outwork him and I'm going to be hoping for a KO because it will look very good for me if I do."

GL: What are your goals for this year?

SG: "I'm hoping that I can get right back to work. I can stay at 135 or move down to 130. I would love to fight for another title at 130 and 135. I read on Boxingtalk that the top lightweight can't get a fight. Casamayor is who I'm talking about I would love to fight him. If he can't find someone, I'd fight him in my next fight."

GL: How do you feel about fighting at 135?

SG: "I feel good. You have to remember that being 5'9 I was killing myself to make 126 pounds. I do get pretty big when I'm not training so I think the weight is going to do me fine. I'm going to see how I feel at 135 on Saturday and then we'll see what happens. But I would definitely fight at lightweight if it means I can fight for a title. Casamayor turned me down in the past, he didn't want to fight me, so it's like I said if he still can't find an opponent I'll fight him in my next fight."

GL: Is Navarro going the distance?

SG: "I don't think so. My goal is to get the W and go out there and win impressively. The last time I was on TV was a couple of years ago and I have to change that. The only way I'm going to do that is by going out there and letting my hands go. If I do that I don't see how he's going to make it the whole ten rounds. I'm looking to get a knockout, but if it doesn't come I will look good and be very happy with the victory."

GL: Is there anything you'd like to say in closing?

SG: "I'd like to thank my fans, Sqare Ring, Roy JOnes Jr. Murad and Boxingtalk, the hottest boxing site out there.'
