Liam Smith TKO5 Sam Eggington... In Liverpool, England, former WBO junior middleweight champion Liam Smith returned to the win column by stopping fellow Brit Sam Eggington in five rounds. Smith's last fight was a failed title shot at Jaime in Munguia last July, but he had no problems vs. Eggington on Saturday.  Smith's punches closed Eggington's right eye, and he was land ing heavy combinations with Eggington trapped in a corner when the referee stopped the fight. Eggington was not close to going down, but he was spared a lot of punishment by the stoppage and did not protest much. Smith is now 26-2-2 and can look forward to a return to the world level.  Eggington, best known for a 2017 upset of former champion Paul Malignaggi, falls to 24-6. source: sky sports
