At last night's press conference, promoter Gary Shaw informed Boxingtalk.com that he is promoting a Showtime triple-header at The Mandalay Bay on October 2nd. Shaw says what he has planned "will garner all the attention of all the boxing fans out there". Opening up the show will be Jeff Lacy, the 2000 Olympian fighting for the IBF super middleweight title against Syd Vanderpool. Then Kassim Ouma and Vernon Phillips will do battle for the IBF junior middleweight title in what should prove to be an action packed bout.
