Shobox reports from Oklahoma!

PRESS RELEASE: The line-up is set for tonight’s episode of ShoBox from the Buffalo Run Casino in Miami, Oklahoma. The first televised fight actually has the greatest local interest as undefeated Jaidon Codrington, in just his tenth pro fight, has traveled from Brooklyn, New York to face Allan Green, 17-0, in Green’s home state. Both men weighed at 167 pounds yesterday. In order to minimize the chance of a hometown decision, promoters DiBella Entertainment and Holden Productions have agreed on out-of-state judges. For the ShoBox main event, Sechew Powell, 17-0, weighed in at the junior middleweight limit of 154 while Archak Ter-Meliksetian scaled in at 153. Off television, Codrington’s close friend Curtis Stevens, 8-0, weighed in at 169, down from 172 in his last fight. Stevens is matched against Corey Budd, 7-7, who weighed in at 171.  Andre Berto, a 2004 Olympian, will go for eight wins in as many pro fights Maurice Chalmers, 6-6-1.  Rounding out the card, ShoBox alum Isaac Mendoza, 13-1, faces Jonathan Nelson, 10-11 at junior welterweight, while super middleweight Francisco Diaz, 13-1 but inactive for more than a year, comes back against Mike Jackson, 10-11.
