ShoBox line-up set for next week

Press Release: In his first ShoBox appearance on October 5, 2007, bantamweight Yonnhy Perez stopped Russian Alexander Fedorov in four rounds.  On Friday, September 5th, the Colombian contender returns to the series as the semi-main event with a bout against Mexican powerhouse Tomas Rojas at Buffalo Bill’s Star Arena in Primm, Nevada.

“I’m happy to be back on ShoBox and I hope to put on an even more impressive performance than I did last time,” said Perez.  “I’ve grown a lot as a fighter since the fight against Fedorov, and I think the viewers will be pleased with what they see on September 5th.”

Perez vs Rojas, a ten round bantamweight contest, is presented by Gary Shaw Promotions, in association with Thompson Boxing Promotions.  The bout will air live on Showtime’s ShoBox - The New Generation, beginning at 11pm ET / PT. In the ShoBox co-feature, Antonio DeMarco takes on Jose Reyes in a ten round lightweight showdown.

A native of Cartagena, Colombia, Yonnhy Perez (17-0, 12 KOs) was a four-time Colombian national champion as an amateur before relocating to the United States and entering the pro ranks in 2005. Now based in Santa Fe Springs, California, Perez has impressed fight insiders so far, and in his last fight, on June 27th, Perez won a ten round decision win over Oscar Andrade.

Following the semi-main event and concluding the night, Hispanic warriors, Antonio DeMarco (18-1, 13KOs) and Puerto Rico's Jose "El Gallo" Reyes (23-4, 8KOs) will square off in a competitive ten- round lightweight battle.

On the undercard, 2000 Olympian medal winner Ricardo Willliams (11-2) will face Edwin Algarin (10-4-1) in a 10 round welterweight bout and Chris Avalos (5-0, 4 KOS) will take on Brazil's Jose Albuquerque (8-3-2) in a six round combat.
