Shigeoka Brothers win world titles on same show

Ginjiro Shigeoka TKO5 Daniel Valladares... The Shigeoka brithers, Ginjiro and Yudai, made boxing history in Tokyo, as both men won world minimumweight titles. Younger brother Ginjiro (pictured, left) stopped  Mexico's Daniel Valladares in round five to win the IBF championship by technical knockout. Ginjiro, who is age 26 and three years younger than Yudai, is now 10-0. He won this rematch after knocking down Valladares. The first encounter came in January, a no-contest after Ginjiro accidentally head-butted Valladares. An August rematch was rescheduled after Shigeoka suffered a foot injury. Valladares' record fell to 27-4-1 with the one no-contest. source: kyodo news

Yudai Shigeoka W12 Panya Pradabsri... Japanese southpaw Yudai Shigeoka (pictured, right) went from WBC interim champion to WBC world champion by defeating Panya Pradabsri of Thailand on a big card presented by Kameda Promotions at the Ota City General Gymnasium in Tokyo. Yudai dominated Pradabsri from the beginning with his aggressiveness. Pradabri tried to counterpunch, but did so without much effectiveness. Yudai kept constant pressure on the brave Thai, who, like in all of his fights, showed big heart. The judges scored the bout 119-109 (twice) and 117-111 in a great victory for Yudai Shigeoka. With this win, he improved his record to 8-0 with 5 knockouts, while Pradabsri slipped to 40-2 with 24 knockouts. source: WBC
