Claressa Shields UD10 Hanna Gabriels: Claressa Shields and Hanna Gabriels gave boxing fans a stellar action fight for the vacant IBF and WBA middleweight championships. Gabriels fought with the confidence of a champion and gave the two time gold medallist her toughest fight as a pro. Gabriels even came out fighting Shields with her hands down when the first bell sounded. A right uppercut-left hook dropped Shields in the first rounds, but she wasn't badly hurt and easily beat the count. Shields, 6-0 (2KO), was in control of the action from the second round on, but most of the time she landed something significant Gabriels would respond. In addition to being knocked down, Shields was also cut under her left eye in the final round. Official scores were 98-91, 97-92 twice. Boxingtalk scored it 98-91, but wouldn't mind seeing Gabriels again, especially against Cecilia Braekus. Shields and WBO/WBC middleweight champion Christina Hammer got into a scuffle in the ring during Claressa's post fight interview. Source: Showtime.Â
