Diego Corrales put a rematch clause in the contract for last night's bout against Jose Luis Castillo, and his promoter intends to exercise it. Sportsticker quoted Gary Shaw as saying, "I will be sending a letter to Top Rank invoking the rematch clause. The next fight Castillo has to fight will be against Diego." Not too many fans will complain after two action-packed fights, the first won by Corrales in an all-time classic and the second won by Castillo by fourth-round knockout last night. Castillo, however, failed to make the lightweight limit of 135 pounds. In a difficult decision, Boxingtalk will now rate Castillo as the #3 junior welterweight in the world behind only world champion Ricky Hatton and Floyd Mayweather, who beat Castillo twice, once controversially and once legitimately. Despite the knockout loss in what turned out to be a weltwerweight bout, Corrales will remain Boxingtalk's world lightweight champion.
