Shane Cameron KOs Brazilian stiff in one

Original foe Kelvin Davis seriously injured

Shane Cameron KO1 Jucimar Hipolito... With the heavyweight division suffering a slow and painful decline, anyone searching for future stars has to cast a very wide net. This weekend, Moscow will host perhaps the top heavyweight hopeful, Alex Povetkin, in a bout against Larry Donald. Another possibility is New Zealand based Shane Cameron, who is now 19-0 after a soft win over Jucimar Hipolito in Auckland this week. Cameron was slated for a real test, ex-cruiserweight titlist Kelvin Davis, but Davis was a late scratch after a bizarre accident that saw him suffer a bad back injury when he jumped off a bridge to avoid being hit by a car. Hipolito was quickly imported from Brazil, and he just as quickly went down three times in the first round and then collected his paycheck. According to the New Zealand Herald, Hipolito, 12-7, was legitimately knocked down once and then went down twice more from minimal contact. Meanwhile, Davis had to undergo surgery and will be laid up in New Zealand for a month. Boxingtalk wishes him a full recovery. source: nz herald
