GL: It's been a while since we've had you on Boxingtalk. What's the latest and greatest and when can we expect to see you back in the ring? "That's a question for my promoter and my manager. There's been a lot of talks but I don't know what it's going to be. I'm always training, but right now it's a little bit of a crazy situation because I don't know who I will fight or where I will fight."
GL: As the former WBO heavyweight champion were you disappointed to see Holyfield step in against Ibragimov instead of yourself?
Sergei Liakhovich: "You know what? I'm not that disappointed. Boxing always is crazy. When Evander received the shot to fight for the title, I'm actually happy for Evander and I'm happy he's getting another shot to fight for the world title."
GL: I've been hearing that you and Valuev could be fighting for the vacant WBA heavyweight title if Ruslan Changaev is unable to return on time. What can you tell us about this?
SL: "I heard about that, but I don't know what's going on with that. I know Valuev will be taking a warm up fight in Germany. I'm ready to fight him but I'm waiting on all of these crazy politics."
GL: Are you confident that you can be successful against one of the top heavyweights after such a long layoff?
SL: "Absolutely."
GL: Who do you like in Ibragimov-Holyfield?
SL: "I don't like to speculate. It depends on what kind of condition Evander comes into the ring. If he's healthy I think he has a good chance. But it's hard to say right now. In that fight I will not pick nobody."
GL: What about Klitschko-McCline?
SL: "It's going to be a good fight but I have to go with Klitschko."
GL: What about Maskaev-Peter?
SL: "It should be a good fight, a very good fight. A long time ago I would have told you Samuel Peter, but now that the fight is getting closer I'm starting to think it's a 50-50 fight."
GL: Even though you're both managed by Ivaylo, if Peter becomes the champion does he become somebody you want to fight?
SL: "Why not? I have a lot of respect for him but business comes first."
GL: Is there anything you'd like to say in closing?
SL: "Thank you for the interview. Right now it's hard to say what will be next but the fans will see me very soon."
