Greg Leon: Congrats on your recent win over Hugo Padilla. Can you give us some thoughts on your performance? Semajay Thomas: "I thought it was good. He had a hard head and he took a beating because I was hitting him with some good shots. It was good work for me to get some rounds up under my belt and I got him out of there with a right hand, left uppercut. That's what put him on the canvas and when he got up I jumped on him and got him out of there."

 

GL: This was your second win in the last few months. Is the next fight going to be the step up or what? Because your opposition in these last two has been less than stellar [Padilla is 5-19, previous opponent Mike Fowler is 7-19].

 

Semajay Thomas: "We're looking for a 50-50 fight. I want to take that step up now. Robbie Davies from the UK, I"m trying to get that done. I would love to get in there with some of these guys that are with Eddie Hearn and Frank Warren."

 

GL: Are you still managed by Jermall Charlo?

 

ST: "Yes sir."

 

GL: Any early indication when the next fight is going to be?

 

ST: "Right now we're looking at July 13th, I don't have the official venue yet, but I should know something in the next couple of days."

 

GL: Will this July 13th bout be the 50-50 fight?

 

ST: "Yes sir. All day! That's what we're looking for. The fans want to see me step it up and I'm ready. I want that fight as soon as possible because I could do it all in there, I can box, I can bang, I can do it all. The best is yet to come, I'm 11-1 with 8 KOs and got plenty to show y'all."

 

GL: This was your fourth straight win following your only loss to Darwin Price. Do you plan on trying to avenge that loss?

 

ST: "I'm definitely up for it and we was trying to make the fight happen with Lions Only Promotions, but it didn't fall right. If the money is right and we get that date, we can get ready to rumble. I still don't feel that I lost that fight. They had him winning on the scorecards, but I came back strong at the end and I think it was either a draw or me by a round. I really don't think I lost, but we definitely got to do that again."
