Saunders dominates Murray

Billy Joe Saunders W12 Martin Murray.... Billy Joe Saunders retained his WBO super middleweight title with a one-sided victory over valiant but faded Martin Murray. Saunders (30-0) took a unanimous decision by scores of 120-109 (twice) and 118-110.  Murray did not offiially go down to the canvas, but seemed to benefit from the referee calling a slip while he was hurt from a Saunders punch. In any event,  the 38 year-old Murray was never really in the fight either. Now 39-9, Murray's career is almost certainly finished. He was universally respected and, sadly for him, wrongfully denied a world championship in a poorly judged 2011 draw vs. Felix Sturm. In all, Murray was 0-4-1 in world tite challenges vs. Sturm, Sergio Martinez, Arthur Abraham, Gennadiy Golovkin and Saunders. Golovkin was the only man to stop Murray, whose legacy, as Brits say, is as a "nearly man."  As for Saunders, he hopes to land a 2021 fight vs. the winner of the December 19th WBA super middleweight fight between Saul "Canelo" Alvarez vs. Callum Smith .  source: dazn
