Ramon Montano W8 Americo Santos... On the non-televised portion of the ShoBox card from the Chumash Casino in Santa Ynez, California, scrappy underdog Ramon Montano survived a third-round knockdown en route to an upset split decision win over the exciting Americo Santos. Montano improves to 12-3-2 with 1 KO,and he is developing a reputation as a legitimate spoiler. Last year, he put the lone draw on Dmitriy Salita's record, which is now 25-0-1. Santos slips to 25-2-1 with 21 KOs.

Lonnie Smith Jr. D3 Carlos Vinan... A cut caused by an unintentional clash of heads brought a premature end to a crowd-pleasing bout between Lonnie Smith Jr. and Carlos Vinan. Both fighters had some good moments in the junior lightweight contest, much of which was fought on the inside. But when referee Lou Moret brought in the doctor to look at a cut over Vinan's eye in the third, the  bout was waved off.

Cortez Bey W6 Alfonso Figueroa and Mickey Bey W6 Odi Rivera... The  Cortez brothers, prospects out of Cleveland who took the entire 2006 off, both returned to action with six-round unanimous decision victories in Santa Ynez. Mickey is now 5-0, while Cortez is 4-0.
