Press Release: On Thursday, February 1, 2007, live pro boxing returns to San Manuel Indian Bingo and Casino in Southern California. The main event features a junior welterweight battle between "Feisty" Freddie Barerra (10-1-0, 1 KO) and Jesus 'Chuy' Rodriquez (12-2-0, 5 KOs). The bout is scheduled for ten rounds. Barerra, a Colton resident, is a local favorite and fearless fighter. He was undefeated until he lost to Victor Ortiz (who was just seen on ShoBox this past weekend) early last year. Prior to that, Barrera had reeled off 10 straight victories to begin his professional career. He had a fine amateur record of 42-9-0, winning the Blue and Gold tournament along the way. Rodriquez, from Salinas, CA, makes his second appearance in the San Manuel ring after taking a unanimous decision over Rafael Ortiz in February 2006. Last November he chalked up a unanimous decision over Hector Saez. He is co-managed by Jack Mosley, father and trainer of four-time world champion "Sugar" Shane Mosley. Tickets are available now at the San Manuel Box Office and all Ticketmaster locations.
